Dance-Study Program
Dance-Study Program opens to both girls and boys in Secondary I to V, and College level. Dance training is combined with the
full-time academic studies already offered by the educational institution. This program is offering a brighter future for young dancers, promoting the development of both their intellectual and artistic abilities.
IF YOU HAVE A PASSION FOR DANCE
The aim of the Ballet Divertimento pre-professional program is to familiarize students with the rigorous demands of the discipline;
they will gradually learn to master the technical elements of classical dance, to study and execute dance movements
from various genres, and to develop an artistic approach. The program involves between 12 and 18 hours of dance classes par week (depending on the level) scheduled in the morning for College level and in the afternoon for High School.
All students benefit from quality instruction and a pedagogical framework adapted to their particular experience and abilities.
Each student is assured individual attention.
THE PROGRAM INCLUDES
Classes in ballet, pointe work, variations, pas de deux and classical repertoire.
Classes in contemporary dance
The chance to work with internationally renowned guest choreographers to teach unique creations
The possibility of participating in mid-term and end-of-term productions.
ENTER A WORLD OF MOVEMENT
The teachers at Ballet Divertimento gave degrees in pedagogy and dance. Drawing on their in-depth knowledge and skill,
they enable the young dancers t develop those qualities that are fundamental to the practice of dance.
They are accessible, attentive to individual needs and concerned about academic success and the overall health of the dancer.

Édouard-Monpetit High School is a public institution of the Montréal School Commission situated at
Pierre-de-Coubertin Ave, open to students in grades 7 to 12.

Collège de Maisonneuve – A venerable institution of Montreal’s francophone
community, the school is located a few subway stations from Ballet Divertimento.

and sciences. The school is located in the downtown area of Montreal.

Ballet Divertimento is excited to announce the accreditation of of a new college level program
"CREATIVE ARTS - DANCE" which has been created with Centennial College.
Centennial College - This new program is offered as of September 2010
and is the first English language cegep dance program in Quebec.

Scholarships
Merit scholarships are annually awarded through the generous support of Jacques Benjamin,
and named for two dancers with Les Grands Ballets Canadiens:

Auditions are held in both official languages. It is also possible to audition by submitting a videotape.

Registration
Admission to the program is conditional upon passing an audition, and completing the application process.
